MEL AND THE KIDS AT PARANA PARK
Mel came to Parana Park with her two girls, Aubrey and little Stella, on a bright winter morning. The kids were running before I’d even got the lens cap off.
So we didn’t fight it. We just played. Chase around the big trees, swinging off the low branches, a pile-on that turned into a cuddle, one game rolling into the next for the whole hour.
Mel spent the morning being tackled, climbed on, and laughed at. There’s a shot of Stella biting down on a grin over Mel’s shoulder, and one of Aubrey mid-sprint with her hair everywhere, that are the whole session in two frames.
When Mel saw the gallery she said she loved them and thanked me. I found out on the day she doesn’t have many photos of herself with the girls. Now she has a morning of them.
This is what a family session in Hamilton looks like when nobody poses. Just a mum and her kids at Parana Park, and me keeping up.
