A FAMILY SESSION AT PARANA PARK, HAMILTON

This is the third time I’ve photographed Nasim, Amir and their two kids.

Iriana knew what to expect this time. She got on with it before I asked, whispering things to her mum that I wasn’t told, hanging off her dad upside down in the leaves. Ariyan is at the age where he does what he wants, and about halfway through he decided he was done. That was fine, I knew it was coming so got what I needed early.

We were at Parana Park at two in the afternoon, because the mornings are too cold for this at the moment. Swings, a slide, a pile of leaves deep enough to lie down in.

Mostly we played. That’s the part that works with a little one, and it turns out it works on everyone else too.

Three sessions in, this was the easiest one and the best one. That isn’t a coincidence.
