TINA & POUYA | MATERNITY SESSION IN HAMILTON
This session happened at a reserve just outside Hamilton that was covered in wildflowers… so beautiful. I’d never shot there before, and the location delivered more than I expected.
It was a mix of maternity and family, which is how I think these sessions work best. Tina was the focus, but Neil was there doing his thing, picking daisies, exploring, being part of the story without needing to perform. Pouya was relaxed and present. The best family photos happen when everyone is just allowed to be themselves, and that’s what this session felt like.
We used the whole reserve, the open field, the walking paths under the trees, and an old wooden bench that turned out to be the perfect spot for quieter moments. Tina did two outfit changes which gave us a good range across the set.
I love that this family let me photograph this chapter for them. A few months later I was back at their home for Nico’s newborn session, and the two posts sit together as a before and after of their family growing.
If you’re expecting and thinking about maternity photos, I’d love to hear from you, get in touch here.
