NEIL’S FIRST BIRTHDAY | FAMILY SESSION AT LAKE TE KOO UTU CAMBRIDGE
Tina and Pouya brought little Neil down to Lake Te Koo Utu in Cambridge to celebrate his first birthday. The plan was simple, some family photos by the lake, a bit of play, and a cake smash to finish.
Neil is one, which means attention spans are short and sitting still isn’t really on the menu. So we kept things moving, lots of walking, cuddles, bubbles, shoulder rides, and letting him wander and explore while I followed along. The best expressions came from the in-between moments, not from anyone trying to perform.
Tina and Pouya were great with him. You can tell they just enjoy being around each other, and that kind of energy makes my job easy. We got some beautiful family shots on a blanket under the trees, then some time with just the two of them while Neil had a break.
The cake smash at the end was the perfect finish. Messy, happy, chaotic in the best way. Neil went straight in with both hands, which is exactly what you want.
