FAMILY SESSION AT LAKE TE KOO UTU | CAMBRIDGE
This was a family session with Nasim, Amir, and their daughter Iriyana at Lake Te Koo Utu in Cambridge. It’s one of my favourite spots in Cambridge, big old trees, walking paths, a wooden bridge by the stream, and enough variety to keep a session interesting without having to drive anywhere.
Iriyana was full of energy, which is exactly what you want. We moved through the park at her pace, stopping wherever she wanted to explore, and I worked around her. The best shots came when she wasn’t thinking about the camera at all.
They did two outfit changes, which gave the gallery a completely different feel halfway through. The green and white set under the willows is soft and classic. The matching red is bold and fun, and it pops against all the green in the park. It’s a simple thing but it makes a big difference to the final set.
We also made time for some couple shots of Nasim and Amir on their own, down by the bridge. Those moments matter too, and they’re easy to fit in while the little one is busy with a snack or exploring nearby.
